Denali National Park may be easily reached by train on board the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage, Fairbanks or Talkeetna and by car along the Alaska Range on the very scenic beautiful George Parks Highway. Note: the only access into Denali National Park's backcountry areas is by shuttle bus departing from the visitors center !   
Denali National Park, Alaska - Wildlife Viewing Denali National Park is generally open for visitors from May until September. Wildlife viewing is excellent: The park is home to a healthy population of Grizzly Bears, Caribou herds roam throughout the park, Dall Sheep are often seen on mountainsides, Moose feed on plants of small lakes and swamps, about 150 different bird species reside during spring and summer inside Denali Park and Wolf, Fox, Lynx and Wolverines inhabit many backcountry areas. Main activities are: wildlife viewing, nature photography, camping, backcountry hiking, rafting, cycling, climbing and mountaineering.
Denali National Park, Alaska - Sightseeing A variety of hotels in all categories are available within a 5-mile radius from the Denali National Park entrance and a few wilderness lodges at the end of the 91-mile long park road near beautiful Wonder Lake and the Kantishna gold mining area. The park is a designated International Biosphere Reserve within the mighty Alaska Mountain Range and its major peaks are Mt.McKinley with 20.320 ft - the highest mountain in North America, Mt. Foraker (17.400 ft), Mt. Hunter (14.573 ft) and Mt. Hayes (13.832 ft) The visitor center is the central departing area for all tours and ranger lead interpretive programs.

Day 1: Anchorage (Arrival Day) Arrive in Anchorage during the day. Transfer to your hotel in downtown. Spend the remaining afternoon to visit the sights of the Alaskan city or enjoy a stroll along the Coastal Trail with views of Mt. McKinley and the "Sleeping Lady". Upon request we arrange for you a guided city sightseeing tour. Overnight Anchorage.
Day 2: Anchorage - Denali National ParkEarly morning transfer to the railroad station. Board the Alaska Railroad for the departure at 8:00 am. Enjoy the scenery as the train whisks you through the Matanuska Valley towards the Alaska Range and Mt. McKinley. Guaranteed wrap-around Dome Car Seats are available on request. Onboard services feature a restaurant, gift shop and snack bar. Arrive at Denali Village at 3:45 pm where you are picked up and transferred to your hotel. Once you settled take a stroll through Denali Village, take a flightseeing tour or a wildwater rafting trip (on request). Overnight Denali National Park.
Day 3: Denali National Park Wildlife TourToday experience the wildlife and wonderful sceneries of the Denali National Park. Morning transfer to the Visitor Center where your wildlife tour begins. Pick up your pre-reserved tickets and explore the center if time allows. Board the bus, sit back, enjoy the scenery and look out for wildlife. Your driver informs you about the history of Denali National Park, its diverse wildlife and flora. Once a bear, caribou or another animal has been spotted the bus will stop that everyone can watch and take pictures. Your tour runs all the way to Eielson Visitor Center, a four hour drive or to Wonder Lake - on special request. You can get off the bus anytime you wish and take a stroll, go hiking and enjoy the landscape. By hand signal the next available bus will stop for you to get on. Overnight Denali National Park.
Day 4: Denali National Park - AnchorageIn the morning you have time to take a short hike, watch a sled dog demonstration presented by the park rangers, enjoy a helicopter flightseeing tour or visit the shops of Denali Village for a last souvenir. Transfer to the Denali Railroad station where you board the train at noon for a return trip to Anchorage. You arrive at Anchorage train station at 8:00 pm.
